Fourteen district engineers of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) were relieved of their coveted posts last week following allegations of corruption leveled by Malacanang.
DPWH Sec. Mark Villar said that President Duterte ordered them sacked for their alleged involvement in questionable multi-million contracts at the behest of certain congressmen.
“There will be a rigodon inside the DPWH and there wilkl be a lot of changes, as we have zero tolerance for corruption,” Villar was quoted as saying.
Villar said he had earlier created the Task Force Against Corruption which would probe alleged shenanigans of his subordinates via Department Order No. 101.
However, he did not say exactly what would happen to the 14 district engineers who were stripped of their respective offices.
